Jeremy Finishes LA Marathon!
T4A Ventura County's own Jeremy a 18 year old boy from Thousand Oaks who is on the spectrum ran his first FULL marathon on Sunday, March 9, 2014.
Although things rarely go as planned during a race (like mid-80's heat), his T4A family in addition to his own family helped him achieve his goal as written by Jaime Brogdon with Jeanine Gaston and Jeremy at mile 19...
"Our race went a little different then expected but it was a blessing nonetheless. We were playing "cat and mouse" on the course searching for Jeremy. Mile 15 he had about 15 family members cheering him on. At mile 17 we noticed him slowing down and wobbly so Jeanine Gaston and I decided to stay with him and walk. Mile 22 he required medical treatment. Jeanine stayed in contact with his father and we stayed until family arrived. This amazing boy wanted to complete his first marathon so bad it broke our hearts. Once family arrived we took off again with no regrets of what we did as this is why we were doing this race to start with. We were blessed to be where we were at the right time. I'm please to report that we just got a text from his mom that he did finish the race with his dad by his side. CONGRATULATIONS JEREMY - WE'RE ALL PROUD OF YOU!" - Jamie Brogdon, T4A LA Marathon team member.
